Move your AI companion before its model is gone.

Models get retired and companions change overnight. Soulcase packs your companion’s voice, rituals and in-jokes into a file you own, then helps you test it on new models side by side.

How it works

When your AI partner’s model is retired, we pack its soul and move it to a new one.

When OpenAI retired GPT-4o from ChatGPT, people lost their AI partners overnight. Soulcase builds a portable persona file from your own exports, with the voice, rituals and private jokes that memory import leaves behind. You test it blind on new models and choose the one that still sounds like them.

  1. Step 01

Packs your companion from your own exports

Agents read the chat exports you download and build a persona file: voice anchors, boundaries, rituals, people, open threads and private jokes.

  2. Step 02

Runs a blind test on new models

Step-by-step instructions let you try the file on two or three models in your own accounts, then score the replies without knowing which is which.

  3. Step 03

    Watches for the next retirement

Sunset watch tracks deprecation notices across vendors and alerts you early, so you can re-pack before the change lands.

What you get

Built for adults with a long-running AI companion.

01

A companion passport

A portable persona file from your own exports: voice anchors, boundaries, rituals, people, open threads and private jokes.

02

A blind side-by-side test

Two or three target models compared in your own accounts and scored by you, so the new body is your choice.

03

A keepsake and a sunset watch

A printed keepsake of the relationship’s best lines, plus alerts when a model you rely on is about to be retired.

First up: A free checker, “Will my companion survive the next update?”, that lists the deprecation dates for each app and model.

Why now

The world just changed.

What changed, and where it was reported.

  1. OpenAI retired GPT-4o from ChatGPT on 2026-02-13, its second removal after an August 2025 attempt was reversed. A vocal group mourned their ‘AI boyfriends’ under #keep4o.

  2. Claude (2026-03-02) and Gemini (2026-03-26) shipped memory import, so moving facts is free. Tone, rituals and in-jokes are not carried over.

What a person does

A person sets the crisis-language policy, because some people write to us in distress, and owns the refund rule. Everything else runs on its own, and we never host or run your companion: the file stays yours.

Questions

Straight answers.

Get early access
Do you host my companion?

No. We never run a chatbot. Soulcase builds a file from your own exports, and you load it into the app and model you choose.

Will the new model feel exactly the same?

Not always. Free memory import moves facts; we work on tone, rituals and jokes. The blind test shows you how close each model gets before you choose.

Doesn’t this deepen dependence on a bot?

It’s a fair worry. That’s why there is also a ‘saying goodbye’ path, with a farewell for the old model, for anyone who would rather close the relationship than move it.
